Google Apps
NC State is a Google Campus, which means we use Google tools for email, calendar, instant messaging, and creating and sharing documents with other school affiliates. Gmail is the primary form of University communication. Employees have unlimited storage in Gmail and Google Drive for email and files.
NC State supports the following Core Apps, which are governed by the Google Apps Education Edition Agreement between the university and Google.
- Google Chrome is the recommended browser for Google Apps. For users with accessibility requirements, OIT recommends Firefox.
- Free training is available for Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Hangouts, and other Google apps throughout the year. For more information, see Training & Workshops. Visit REPORTER to see a complete training calendar and register for workshops.
