OIT provides additional campus services that may be important to your job duties and responsibilities.  The optional sections below provide a brief description of these services along with links to more information and resources.

Campus information is at your fingertips with the NC State OnCampus mobile app. Search the campus directory, check out events, find buildings using an interactive campus map, view dining menus and nutrition facts, keep up with what’s happening in the news at NC State, and discover other mobile apps that can help you while you’re on campus.   • Office of Information Technology: Free training is available for Google apps, WordPress, IT accessibility, security services and other technologies throughout the year.   • DELTA: DELTA supports you in the use of technology for teaching and learning with resources appropriate for your learning environment in your discipline. In addition to their regularly scheduled workshops, DELTA can also provide free custom training within the supported toolset for graduate students, faculty and staff.   • Financial Systems: Financial Systems training is provided by several campus units including the Controller’s, Purchasing, and Budget offices.
  • HR: Training & Organizational Development (T&OD): T&OD is committed to identifying and addressing university, departmental, work team and individual development opportunities for NC State faculty and staff.
  • Systems Access Request (SAR):  SAR automates the approval process for granting and revoking user access to applications, principally HR, FIN and SIS.
  • SAS Consulting, Department of Statistics:  The Department of Statistics teaches free short SAS workshops for NC State students, faculty and staff.
  • IES Professional Development:  NC State IES Professional Development solutions help you and your employees maintain competencies and gain valuable skills to accelerate career growth and improve business performance.
  • Technology Training Solutions (TTS): TTS offers one and two day technology courses along with certification programs.  Course offerings include software, productivity, web development and more. TTS offers a discount to NC State employees and is conveniently located in the McKimmon Center for Extension & Continuing Education.

  • A variety of free software products are available for employees to download onto their home computers (including Microsoft Office 365). A complete list can be found at software.ncsu.edu. Several other software products are available through the University Bookstore at discounted prices.
  • Virtual Computing Lab (VCL) allows you to access campus software and applications remotely.

  • MyPack Portal is a one stop source for university employees. By logging into your MyPack Portal account with your Unity ID and password, you have direct access to a variety of campus services from any computer.  The Portal can be used to:
    • Update personal, directory, and tax information
    • Request a parking permit
    • View your paystub
    • Register for benefits
    • Request leave time
    • Access a wealth of other resources that will assist you during your time at NC State.
  • If you haven’t already, make sure to log into your MyPack Portal account at mypack.ncsu.edu and ask your supervisor which resources you will need to access for your job.  
  • Users must agree to the Information Security Acknowledgement (ISA) form before receiving full access to university systems. Each employee is expected to review this form and agree to the terms and conditions associated with your account. Checking the box confirms that you understand the Computer Use and Data Management Policies and Procedures for the university. The ISA form can be found in the New Employee Checklist. If you have any questions about the form, please ask your supervisor or contact the Help Desk.

  • Computers are available throughout campus for use by NC State faculty, staff, and students. Additional information regarding labs, kiosks, locations and schedules can be found by visiting Unity Computer Labs.
  • In support of staff development, the University Staff Senate has created a computer loan program. This program requires an application process and is limited to staff members who meet the eligibility criteria.

Communication Technologies (ComTech), a division of OIT, provides a number of solutions that may improve your workflow and/or productivity. These solutions include office-wide services like conference calls, caller input based routing/menus and call centers as well as end-user tools like voicemail-to-inbox, VoIP softphones and single-number reach.
